About DJW Gardening

'My father owned a very successful flower nursery from the 1960s to the 1990s and his passion for horticulture and gardening, including growing exotic plants, deeply influenced me. I grew up in our family home, which was on the nursery site, and my father’s passion for plants and gardening was infectious and soon took hold. From a very young age I helped my father in the greenhouses, tending to the plants all year around and ensuring the best quality flowers were grown to be sold locally and nationally such as at Covent Garden Market in London. I was his shadow from a young age in our extensive private gardens, learning invaluable skills and knowledge from this very talented man.

 

Whilst following a career for 25 years working in the medical device industry, I designed, landscaped, and maintained a number of garden projects for friends and family. I feel passionately that the key to success is listening to customers’ needs and helping them to set a clear vision for their garden design. For example, I recently worked with a client to establish that they wanted a place that can serve as a peaceful retreat and a space for relaxation and reflection.

 

In 2025, I was very fortunate to transition full-time into gardening, allowing my passion, skills and knowledge for gardening to reach fruition. I am excited and motivated to create beautiful garden spaces that you will love and cherish as much as I do'.
